Wake me up when NS ends

Unsettled and fuk up best describe my life now. To all fortunate civilians out there, there is a big misconception that on behalf of all NSF that I would like to clarify. National Service is not as fun as you all think it is and we are definately not enjoying it man.

4 weeks in BSLC is more than enough to change my opinion of NS. When I was in BMT, I used to think that our army is truly outstanding because its run by dedicated and thinking commanders. Back then, I was dead sure that our army is more than able to rise to the occasion if any our neighbours try to be funny with us. If you ask me the same old question now, I really need to think twice. The ironic thing is, the instructors in bmt are all NSF compared to regulars in bslc. I'm personally more impressed by nsf way of running the show when it comes to efficency and flexibilty when the situation calls.

Its not because that I'm not enjoying my National service thats why I'm finding fault with the commanders but its just my two cents worth. Yes I repect them for their vast experience and military knowledge but there will be times when you dun have to follow the book so strictly.

A 6 days work week is detrimental enough to my morale coupled with the above is really an ultimate turn off. I'm not ashamed to declare that I cant be bothered now. I dun aspire to be the "perfect section commander" anymore. The new environment is that influencial on me. It has taken away all the little motivation and drive that is left in me. I no longer feel the need to give my best in all that I do now. From now till 070208, it will just be going thru motion and do the bare minimum for me. But not forgetting to make frens and have some fun along the way. Lalalelala..
