Life sucks

Life sucks when you executed a sliding challenge and you missed the man and ball and you injured yourself instead.
But its not so bad because that guy didn't score.

Life sucks when you cant play frozen throne on bnet.
But its not so bad because I still got FM 2006 to entertain myself.

Life sucks when your man utd in FM2006 concedes average 1.4 goals a game.
But its not so bad because your team can score at least 2 in almost every game.

Life sucks when SAT is 4 days away and I got no resources and mood to study for it.
But its not so bad because I still got 5 days!!

Life sucks when most of the guys around you are engrossed in dating(be it trying or in the process).
But its not so bad because my really close guy/gal friends are not overly involved in it leaving some time for me along the way.

Life is not so bad after all.

Path to true happiness

The following extract is from bbc.com

Experts believe they have found the essential ingredients to make a person's life happier. In an unusual three-month experiment, six specialists from a variety of disciplines worked to improve the happiness levels of a typical UK town.
The experts tried and tested 10 simple measures in the
quest for happiness.

The 10 steps to happiness

  1. Plant something and nurture it
  2. Count your blessings - at least five - at the end of each day
  3. Take time to talk - have an hour-long conversation with a loved one each
    week
  4. Phone a friend whom you have not spoken to for a while and arrange to meet up
  5. Give yourself a treat every day and take the time to really enjoy it
  6. Have a good laugh at least once a day
  7. Get physical - exercise for half an hour three times a week
  8. Smile at and/or say hello to a stranger at least once each day
  9. Cut your TV viewing by half
  10. Spread some kindness - do a good turn for someone every day. "

I totally agree with the 10 steps mentioned by the researchers but if only it is so simple in reality. It is never easy to let go of the materialistic wants and desires that's instilled in us since young. Time to revise my post A level things-to-do list a little.

Fear

Are you afraid ?

When things begin to look dark and hopeless, that is the time to find out who your friends really are. Just when you think you are the only one who is afraid? Look with new eyes at the people around you, and you will quickly realize that everyone is frightened, at least at some level. But every time we share a burden like fear with another person, that burden is cut in half, and is replaced by love. Suddenly we will realize that we are not as alone as we thought we were.

Paris Is Burning. What Can You Do?

Kind of wierd to talk bout France when I'm having my math paper 2 tmr but i just I'm really disturbed by the riots that is happening in the suburban of France.

To many of us, the riots that started two weeks ago in France seemed like a French problem. We didn't think they would affect us, and we hoped they would be over soon. But since beginning in the bleak high rises that surround Paris and house its poor (mostly Muslims of African descent), they have spread across the country, and even into Germany and Belgium. In some quarters there is such fear that people are even speaking about a maracialcial split in Europe.

Whether that comparison is a good one or not, we should all be concerned with what is happening in France. As in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, the underlying reason for the violence is the enormous and growing gap between the world’s rich and its poor.

This is not a passing concern. It is a crying injustice that ought to touch every heart. Humanly seen, there is very little we can do other than look up to God and to pray like never before for the thousands who are suffering on all sides. But that is something. And each of us can also help prevent such violence from breaking out elsewhere: we can love our next-door neighbours regardless of race as ourselves, not only in word, but in deed.

Let the news media worry about the riots' effect on the global economy. Sadly, as with every other disaster and tragedy these days, that seems to be their foremost concern. But let us not forget that even if those in power measure everything according to its political and financial impact, there is another, far more important dimension to all this: the human aspect.
In the end, the riots are all about the oppression of the poor and underprivileged. It is the same sort of oppression that caused the French Revolution two hundred years ago. Today, as then, those who enjoy economic security are simply not willing to share with those who are less fortunate.

That is why lawlessness and violence are on the rise, not only in France, but around the world. We have made an idol of success and look down on those who do not achieve it. We value people's money and things above their souls, and in the process, we are making human life cheaper and cheaper. Sometimes I really do wonder are we really progressing as a human race because it seems to me we are more barbaric now compared to cavemen when it comes to attaining our material needs.

Money is indeed the root of all evil. I'm pretty glad that I have already got rid of "money is everything" mentality in me. There is definitely more to life than money and A levels.

War is upon us

"Theoden: So much death. What can men do against such reckless hate?
Aragorn: Ride out with me. Ride out and meet them.
Theoden: For death and glory.
Aragorn: For Rohan. For your people.
Theoden: The Horn of Helm Hammerhand will sound in the deep, one last time! "

War is indeed upon us all whether you like it not. No matter how prepared or unprepared you are, the mightly As will still be at your doorstep in 4 days. There is no escape. Time to draw your swords and give it all that you have got for there is no turning back.

I know I'm not ready and the next 4 days wont make a hell of a difference either. Although the chances are slim but I still believe that a victory is still within my reach for hope has not forsaken me. Bring on the A levels and I will show you who is the boss around here.

To war we march!

*a beautiful dawn awaits
