Unexpected reward
What a small worldHad my SAT 2 this morning was as bad as I expected it to be. Quite a handful of the Biology questions are out of the syllabus so I was just guessing and laughing my way through it. Chemistry and Math were ok though. However, the highlight of today is not about wasting US$67 on SAT but I met my long lost primary school buddy there. He was taking SAT too and I didn't notice him until he took the initiative to say hi to me. The forsaken memories of my Primary school days have been revived. This is one of the many reasons why I think I wont do well because my mind wasn't on the paper. It was busy recollecting my Elias Park Primary school days during the full 3.5hrs(ok..No excuses allowed). The catching game that we always play as a class anytime anywhere. The after school hangouts at Elias Mall Mac. Those were the carefree days. I'm indeed very disappointed with myself to lose contact with so many of my 6f 1999 classmates. At least I found one back today. Its US$67 well spent today!
It has been like almost 5 years since we last talk. Life has been a bed of roses for him. A fresh graduate out of RJC and with a bright future safely secured. Jealous of him ?Quite abit actually but I'm really happy for him at the same time. Afterall, he was the top PSLE student in the school during my year.
Its kind of nice to see your primary school buddy doing well in life. The sad thing is that we all tend to comparing ourselves with him. Yes and it doesn't take long for me to realize what a *#%! Failure I'm. Everyone on Earth starts off with nothing and why is it that some people can achieve so much in life while others remain empty-handed for the rest of their lives ? Is it destiny? Hard Work ? Or luck ? A combination of all three I'm sure. But to what extent how essential each component is, that is rather impossible to unravel.
I did see the importance of doing well in life. But it came 2 years late. I was only enlightened in the midst of my A levels Prelims. It should have dawned on me during my O levels Prelims in 2003. "Should" is the key word here. Things may have been very different now.
What's done is done. There is no turning back neither is there time to sit down and sulk over it. My believe is "Everything happen for a reason and most of the time it is for the good. It is just that we do not see the benefit yet." April then April lor!! ;)
